Richmond upon Thames has a good number of professional theatres as well as amateur dramatic societies. 

Undoubtedly the most well known of these is Richmond Theatre on Kew Green in the centre of Richmond - but there are other gems in the Borough!  See below...

ORANGE TREE THEATRE

Richmond upon Thames theatre

Richmond Theatre is in a beautiful 19th Century building in Richmond Surrey, just off Richmond Green.  Their productions range from serious plays to pantomime. Click here for what's on at the Richmond Theatre and to book tickets. 

 

 Perhaps the least known theatre in Richmond is The Orange Tree - London's only permanent theatre in the round. A good night's entertainment.

MARBLE HILL PLAYHOUSE

 

MARY WALLACE THEATRE

Another local theatre group, the Teddington Theatre Club, are based at the Hampton Hill Playhouse.  Tickets cost between £8 and £10 and recent performances have included The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, and Lady Windermere's Fan.

  The Richmond Shakespeare Society is a highly-respected amateur dramatic society based at the Mary Wallace Theatre in Twickenham.  There are opportunities to get involved in every area of the theatre and auditions are held regularly.

Q2 Players are Kew's leading amateur theatre company, performing at Alexandra Hall, St Luke's, The Avenue, Kew.

BROS Theatre Company are celebrating their centenary year. Local shows are regularly performed at Richmond Theatre and the Hampton Hill Playhouse.

Barnes Charity Players present community productions to help and bring awareness to local charities.  They perform at Kitson Hall in Barnes.

 

Teddington Theatre Club regularly perform at the Hampton Hill Playhouse.

Twickenham Operatic Society is now in its 80th year, and 2007 marks the year of "Hello Dolly"
