There are
several great
farmers markets in the Richmond upon Thames area,
including one every Saturday in the town of Richmond,
Surrey. The vast majority of produce sold at these
markets comes directly from the farmer - the theory
being that it's fresher and cheaper. The markets listed here are outdoor, and usually open only once a week - but Hampton Hill also has a farmers' market store called Farmer's City Market which claims to "combine the best of farmers markets with the convenience of supermarkets". |

 Twickenham Farmers' Market is held every Saturday between 9am and 1pm, located in the Holly Road Car Park (behind Marks and Spencer). Produce includes organic meat and vegetables, and there's usually a good burger being cooked on one of the stands. Closest railway station is Twickenham - about 5 minutes walk. |
 Richmond Farmers' Market can be found at Heron Square (just by Richmond Bridge) on Saturdays 11am to 3pm. Aside the normal meats, fruit and vegetables, you can often find honey, cakes and pastries. Richmond Farmers market is approx 10 mins walk from Richmond Station. Call them on 020 8878 5132. |

 Barnes Farmers’ Market runs on Saturday's from 12 noon til 4pm at Essex House on Station Road (just by the pond). Barnes Farmers Market is about 5 mins walk from Barnes Bridge railway station. Tel: 020 8878 5132

 Chiswick Farmers & Fine Foods Market, based at Duke's Meadows, is open every Sunday from 10am to 2pm. Food on sale includes fruit and vegetables, meat, cakes, poultry, cheese, olives, preserves, and BBQ'd burgers. Other than car, the best way to get to Chiswick Farmers Market is by bus (to Edensor Road). |
