The only cinemas left in Richmond upon Thames are in Richmond town itself, but we are lucky enough to have three of them, showing movies across the spectrum from art house to full on Hollywood blockbusters.
From 1929 to 1981 we also had an Odeon cinema in Twickenham that was
originally called the Luxor and built in combination of Egyptian and
modern styles. RICHMOND ODEON CINEMA Two of the Richmond cinemas
are run by the Odeon
chain showing all the blockbusters you would expect.
The largest of the two has three decent sized screens
and screen 1 is twice the size of 2 & 3 with 372 seats
alone. The cinema is located right by Richmond Bridge on
Hill Street so there is limited parking in the immediate
vicinity, so expect a 5-10 minute walk - the Odeon
recommends using the Waitrose car park. Click for latest

cinema. RICHMOND ODEON STUDIO The second Odeon cinema is on Red Lion Street and has
four more screens. Note that all these screens are
relatively small with only 70-90 seats and tend not to
show the epics - usually this is where they'll show
movies that don't need the mega-screen experience.

Curzon Richmond,
previously known as the
Richmond Filmhouse and voted the best
neighbourhood cinema in 2005 by LBC Radio and The
Independent newspaper. Perfect for art-house films

The name 'London Borough of Richmond upon Thames' was created in 1963. Interestingly Twickenham has twice the population of Richmond and is the home of the Borough Council offices for Richmond upon Thames.
