Richmond May Fair

richmond_may_fairYes, yes, yes – it’s finally here (again). The 43rd Richmond May Fair is on Saturday 11th May.

Held on Richmond Green it’s always a great day/afternoon out for families, teenagers, couples… well everyone.

If you’ve been before then you know there’s a huge range of things to do including watching live music, dance, comedy and circus skills… as well as eating great locally prepared food and buying nic-nacs from the stalls.

The great highlights for kids are the old fashioned carousel and helter skelter, and last year there were several giant bouncy castles.

There are always a number of activities inside the Church of St Mary Magdalene which is also on the Green.  You can listen to local choirs and orchestras and even watch the Blessing of the May Queen (at 12.25).

The Parish Rooms will be hosting an exhibition of paintings by students from Richmond Borough schools.

We’ll certainly be heading down.
