Easter Egg Hunts around Richmond

My kids were supposed to go on an Easter Egg hunt today.  But it was just too cold.  It seemed so much warmer last year (although I’ve just been reminded that Easter was ‘later’ last year – April 8th).

Anyway, it seemed like a good idea to do a quick round up on the East Egg hunts in and around Richmond over the next couple of weeks.

Ham House Easter Egg Hunt

Ham House do a good job setting up seasonal events, and of course they have an Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the chocolate-y people from Cadbury.  Take your kids around the gardens, find the clues and then collect an egg as a prize.  It costs £3 per child and runs from 29th March to the 1st of April.  Ham House link here.

Kew Gardens Easter Celebrations

Kew are also never shy to organise events, and they’ve stretched their Easter activities out to a fortnight (29th March – 14th April).   Their theme  travelling through time to discover the history and future of our nation’s favourite treat… on an interactive adventure trail.  The Easter Egg hunt happens on Sunday 31st from 9.30am, but bear in mind that the chocolate can run out early.

Strawberry Hill House Easter Garden Trail

Strawberry Hill’s Easter Trail starts on 30th March and runs until Monday 1st April.  Find and answer all the clues to win an Easter treat.  The trail costs just £1 per child and apparently under 8’s may need a helper.

Kew Bridge Steam Museum Easter Egg Hunt

Yes we realise that KBSM isn’t actually in the Borough  – but their Easter action is free for kids.  Hunt for Easter eggs in the museum garden and inside the museum’s huge Engine Houses. 11am-4pm each day.  Link to the museum here.
